"My first semester at PU has turned out to be a great experience. I really enjoyed all my courses and found the different teaching techniques and materials used to broaden my horizon. Business Strategy and Consumer Behavior were my favorite courses, even though they involved a lot of work with case studies. Not only had the professor a very good knowledge of his area of expertise, but he also made us think out of the box on various occasions and in many different ways, also cross-cultural.
In addition I gladly accepted the opportunity to serve the University as a student ambassador where I am able to tell prospective students my unique experience, how I was able to adapt to the different life style and came to love PU.
I am also an active member of PBL (Phi Beta Lambda). In November, I attended the PBL state leadership conference, which gave me the opportunity to test my business knowledge, learn useful business tips for the future and also network with managers from many different companies and industries.
To get to know more students, but also to educate American students about my country, I joined ISA (International Student Association) where I was appointed Vice President of the club. I organized a trip for the members to Biltmore Estate in North Carolina and helped planning other cultural events or club outings.
I was also happy to take advantage of the various great amenities PU has to offer, like going to the gym, researching PU’s several databases, or talking with the career services department.
The campus at Misenheimer is about one hour away from the city of Charlotte. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation to Misenheimer. Since I don`t have a car in Misenheimer, it is difficult to get around. But I have great friends with cars and together we are doing a lot.
In sum, I wouldn’t want to miss a single piece of my experience so far and I am really looking forward to my second semester. My experience at PU will highly conribute to my international education and helps me to improve my English skills."
