Academy of International Business Studies

The Academy of International Business Studies at Pfeiffer University at Charlotte was founded in 1997 as part of the School of Graduate Studies. Its mission is to develop a unique educational program for students from foreign universities and other institutions of higher education. Foreign students will have the opportunity to enroll in a traditional MBA program as well as undergraduate degree programs.
The unique geographic location of Pfeiffer University at Charlotte together with its excellent academic reputation gave rise to the founding of the Academy. The Academy introduces European students to members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg business arena and helps such students to comprehend American business strategies and practices. It is intended that students value and proliferate their business contacts as they might become of invaluable importance in their future profession.

Goals and Objectives

• To facilitate and enhance the acquisition of an MBA degree for international students at Pfeiffer University at Charlotte
• Constant contact for current international students, future students and alumni.
• International students are given the opportunity to engage in an internship which usually lasts anywhere from 3 months to one year
• To maintain existing European cooperations with partner institutions and to develop new cooperations
• To engage in a faculty exchange program, i.e. have foreign academicians teach a summer session, a semester, or an academic year at Pfeiffer U. at Charlotte
• International corporations in and around Charlotte are encouraged to utilize our MBA-training for their employees
• The Academy and Pfeiffer University facilities serve as a meeting place for the Charlotte business community and international social interest groups.
